History The history of Aurangabad holds significance because it has been the Capital city of Aurangzeb. Aurangzeb was ruling from Aurangabad when Guru Gobind Singh Jee sent Bhai Daya Singh Jee to deliver the Zafarnama to him. There is a Gurudwara where Bhai Daya Singh Stayed in Aurangabad. Aurangzeb was in Ahmednagar when Bhai Daya singh came to Aurangabad, so he went to Ahmednagar to deliver the Zafarnama to him. He bribed the officials to meet him for the purpose. When he went inside to meet him he valiantly said "Waheguru jee ka khalsaa Waheguru jee kee fateh" instead of bowing infront of Aurangzeb and saying Salaam. He then gave the zafarnama to Aurangzeb. There is a gurdwara on the Pune-Aurangabad highway in Ahmednagar where Bhai Daya Singh stayed for a few days with other Gursikhs. A tree since that time under which he camped still stands tall in this gurudwara. At the Gurudwara Bhai Daya Singh at Aurangabad there is zafarnama written during the time of Guru Gobind Singh Jee which is embedded at the end of Guru Granth Sahib Jee or probably Dasam Granth. I am not sure which granth it is but its written by Bhai Daya Singh Jee himself as far as I know. There are thousands of Gold string used to make borders and beautiful paintings in it.
Remarks Any visitor planning to go to Aurangabad can stay at Guru Tegh Bhadur Gurudwara at GTB Nagar, Sindhi Colony Aurangabad.
