History Its named after the Sri Guru Gobind Singhji's feet that are compared to the lotus flower. When Aurangzeb's army attacked the fortress of Chamkaur Sahib, Sri Guru Gobind Singhji successfully resisted their onslaught and slipped away into the forests of Machhiwara. The place where Guruji rested is where the Gurudwara stands today. It marks the site of the garden where Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji had a sip of water and slept on bareland and used his arm as pillow. It was here that his three devotees Dhram Singh, Daga Singh and Manu Singh joined him. An annual congregation fair is held in December, corresponding to 9th & 10th of Poh, the days of Guruji stay at Machiwara. The Gurdwara is supplied water from the same well believed to be the one from which garden was watered during those days. .This town was owned by Rana Udho Singh Ghorewaha who received Rahon as a Jagir by Akbar the Great in return for his capturing of the rebel General Bairam Khan.
